Community Service is a big part of the Shenandoah Valley Young Marines Program

February 18, 2011 - 40 Young Marines from 7 different units within Division II come together to assist with the 66th Anniversary of Iwo Jima and for the dedication of the Browning Automatic Rifleman Statue.  Young Marines lined the walkway as WWII Veterans from the 5th Marine Division arrive for the dedication.  After the dedication the Young Marines met Col Dunsford, Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, enjoyed a tour of the Marine Museum where Iwo Jima survivors talked about their experiences, met the 1st Young Marine from 1959 and had the book War Shots signed by the authors, USMC battle cameramen Norm Hatch and Charles Jones.
